Overheard at the mall
Little girl: Mommy, are those real diamonds?
Little girls Mom: Yes sweetie, they are real diamonds, let's just hope that no one had to die for so someone could have them. ( Said a little louder than necessary)
I know that is a problem in Africa... people die all the time while mining diamonds... but, um, to talk about it with a child in the mall? Seems a little more than odd to me...

I've heard some horror stories about diamond mines and whatnot...maybe that's that woman's soap box issue? Still...kind of a weird response.
