Beautiful Bandon

Here are some pictures of our little Bandon vacation. If you haven't been to Bandon, you really should go. It's about 5 hours down South on the coast and it is National Geographic pretty. We camped in a Yurt at Bullards State Park which is 2 miles N of Bandon. We used to tent camp but once we tried a Yurt there was no turning back. We really had a great time and I wish we were still there. Alas, it's back to the real world. But we'll have our memories.

Here is a picture of Face Rock from a distance. Hopefully you can see why they call it that.

Blake's face in this picture sums up how we all felt about the weekend.
Here's a close up of Face Rock. Does that help?

It was really windy on the beach and a little cool so we let the boys play in the water for a bit, snapped a few shots and headed back to the warm fire at camp.

Home sweet home for a few days.

Blake's best friend was able to go with us. His dad was on his own while his wife was out of town and we ended up with a extra yurt so it worked out great. Here they are proud of their catch of the day. Yes, they were yummy.

More of the Bandon Coastline.

Sidenote: I haven't made it around to my favorite blogs lately (you know who you are) but I haven't forgotten you. I have just been super busy lately (who isn't). Don't give up on me, I'll get caught up eventually.
Sidenote number 2: Do you ever feel that the faster you go, the more behind you get? Yeah, me neither..lol

Hi..Ho..Hi..Ho..it's off to the beach we go

We had great 4th of July weekend. GOD BLESS AMERICA this land that I love. I also survived my very first sharing time in primary. Who knew that a room full of kids under twelve could be so intimidating?
We are off to spend 5 days and 4 nights at the beach. It's my favorite place to go to decompress and I need some serious decompressing. It will be great to get away from it all. Away from work. away from housework. away from church responsibilities (even though I love them). Just me and the boys and nothing but time. We rented a condo by the bay. I don't know if it has Internet access or not so I may be gone for awhile.
So if you are looking for us, we'll be here.
Getting all relaxified.

Great weekend

What a nice long weekend we had. I was able to take 4 days off without taking a vacation day which was really nice. I am now working 4 10 hour days and it's working great.

Friday I cleaned the house (well, half of it anyway) and my good friend came over so we could find her a dress for her daughters wedding. After we accomplished this task, we went had a nice pedicure and had some good quality girl time.

Saturday we hit the ground running. First we went grocery shopping and then we headed out to hit up all the places that would have rescue dogs up for adoption. We visited 4 different places but didn't have any luck. Lots of dogs but none that seemed just right for our family. The search will continue. Then we stopped by for a quick visit to a little carnival that was in town so Blake could ride a few rides. We then went to see Horton Hears a Who which really was very cute movie. They kept a lot of the rhyming from the book which I really liked. By this time we were all super tired so we grabbed some dinner and headed home.

Sunday was a wonderful Easter day minus the pooring rain. Sacrament meeting was very good and the spirit was in abundance. After church we headed over to hubbys aunts house for a family feast and egg hunt. I completely spaced taking my camera so no pictures but just think of a cute little boy in his cute little Easter outfit hunting and finding all the eggs because he was the only kid there. He didn't mind when it came to getting all the candy and goodies.

Monday was a good day to sleep in and then I had a dentist appt to get a root canal. No, that wasn't part of the great weekend but just being able to come home to both of my boys (who happen to be my favorite people in the world to be with) makes it count.

Now, I'll go back to work to rest...LOL Hope you all had a nice Easter weekend.

TGIF!!

Fridays are great all by themselves but the Friday before vacation is even better. This is my last day of work before I get 9 glorious days off. It's going to be hard for me to pretend to be getting any work done around here. The best part is that I don't have anything that I have to do while I'm off. I'm just going to make it up as I go along. My son's preschool teacher is off for 2 weeks and I am taking the first week and hubby is taking the second week. (thank you for the excuse Ms. Amy) I'm hoping that I'll get a few things done around the house but I'm not going to stress about it. Maybe we'll go to the children's museum or the zoo or Omsi. It's supposed to be really warm next week so maybe we'll spend a day or two at the pool. No pressure, just enjoy the time off with my son. He is so much fun and I spend entirely to much time away from him. Bring on the vacation. T minus 6 1/2 hours and counting.....
