and again...and again....
I know that it's pretty cliche to start the year off with a goal of loosing weight but that's the plan. I'm not calling it a diet. I'm calling it a lifestyle change. My friend Paula and I have been walking for awhile but at the beginning of December we got off track due to a loss in her family and the holidays. We are back on track and trying to walk 45 to 50 mins 6 days a week.
I have stocked up on healthy veggies and fruits and lean meats. Any remaining Christmas goodies have been given away. If there is no junk in the house, I can't eat it.
My friend Paula, her friend April and I are also having a friendly competition. The first one to loose 50 pounds wins. The other 2 have to take the winner jeans shopping and buy her a new pair of jeans. I'm not super competitive but it's a good motivator.
My real goal is to be healthier at whatever weight that is.

I love the jeans competition - it sounds like fun!
Way to go Tonya! Keep it up! I have this battle all the time--loose weight; gain weight over and over. It's so easy to slip back into the old habits, though. Be tough and stick to it! The jeans competition is a great idea!
Who doesn't love a new pair of jeans? :) Good luck!!!
Now that is a great competition with a great prize. Good luck.
Great job on the walking.
I love that you are calling it a lifestyle change--so much smarter.
I'm on the same journey! Two pounds down and forty-eight to go...
It's all about choices, I think. Recognizing what you have the power to do! I'll be cheering you on every step of the way!
Slow and steady wins the race! You can do it; look what you've done already! If you'd like to learn a little more about nutrition, might I suggest the book, "The China Study" by T. Colin Campbell. It's amazing and scientifically researched based! Love ya!!
yup! be healthy is important than being slimmer... i also do walk like an hour every weekend...
Wow... Good luck with you journey. You are not alone, I too started my journey to lose weight today while trying on clothes. I posted it on my blogger so my followers can help me stay in line when I start to lose hope.
Sometimes I would be doing so well and just one teaspoon of sugar in my coffee will ruin my whole diet.
I once read that if you make a mistake just keep going.
Dont give up, everyone makes mistakes.
Good luck with your lifestyle change ;).
You are right it is not the diet it is the life style change. I am trying I have started the healthy eating.
Arranged an area of my bike and easy steps..
Started to have good ole fashioned cold so ...still keeping moving..
One day at a time.
Just checking back in to see how you're doing with your resolution.
I have lost a lot of my pregnancy weight this year. Why? I haven't put pressure or a deadline. I've just been trying to eat healthier and when I don't eat healthy to be better about portion control.
Things are going well with the new and healthier me. I am heading down the scale and walking most days and feeling good.
Slow and steady will this race one of these days.
