Is it just me?

Or does the playlist on blogs bug anyone else. Now, I just love music. It is a part of my life in a major way. It has the power to move to the core and speak to my soul. However, I always turn off the playlists when reading a blog. It turns out that I can't listen and read at the same time. I'm sure there are some great songs on these that I turn off but I just can't take it. Am I alone out there?

the thing that gets me about them is that i usually read when everyone is asleep and then it just starts playing loudly.

sometimes i just sit and listen, but most of the time i hit the pause or the mute...

you're not alone. they bug me too. for the same reason it bugs corrine. I usually just turn off my sound when catching up on blogs.

Although, every once in awhile, I hear a REALLY good playlist....and then I just leave that page up while I read others!

I turn them off too. My kids come running when they hear music, and I just want to read in peace.

Do you know what is funny? I have a playlist, but still choose to turn them off on everyone's blog... so I agree with you.

Maybe it's time for me to get rid of mine! :)

I totally agree. Garrett put some music on ours and I hated it because it would play the same song over and over again. So, I had him take it off. I'm just like Beth, my kids come running too--and I'd rather not have them come running! :0 It's funny to hear that most people agree about it.

Well, um, uh... I guess I'm in the minority. I tend to browse people's playlists and find new music. And I'll pull up my own blog to listen to my playlist when I'm working around my room... maybe I need to make it so that it doesn't start automatically...

I turn the music way down because a lot of time I'm on the computer really early or very late.

Nope. I'm with you on that. I keep mine in a seperate area of my blog so people can listen if they want to.

I'm with you. What's really annoying is that often I'll leave a blog up, and usually have the mute button on, but then there'll a you-tube link or something that I WANT to listen to, so I un-mute it and there's this music playing that I have to hunt through all my open links to find! Plus, everyone has different music tastes, so I don't want to impose on someone else's listening style.

NOW, as a side note, I do understand playlists on photography blogs/websites as they set the emotion to the pictures and it can be really effective. (Coming from a photographer who doesn't have any music on her photo blog yet!)

I'm just like you on this...I can't read and listen at the same time! But it never bugs me, because I always have the sound turned off, haha! :D

I always turn off the play lists also. So this is nosey, but who is Kimberly? I'm wondering just because I noticed she comments on your blog and also my sister-in-laws (she's an author--maybe that's why??) blog in Utah. Just curious. It is a small world!--Tina
