Another great general conference has come and gone. I always feel so blessed to be able to listen to the inspired leaders of our church.
We watched Saturday conference here at home (hooray for BYU TV). This morning we were invited over to the Newberry's again for conference and a wonderful brunch. This is our second time getting to join in their tradition of Sunday Conference Brunch. Lots of great food , great talks and great company.
Several of the talks really spoke to me but my favorite was by President Monson. He talked about service. He talked about a man that would always ask each member of his family nightly what they had done to make someone else's life better that day. He told us of many letters he received in response to his request that people serve each other for his birthday. Some of the examples were so sweet.
It really made me realize how wrapped up I get in my own crazy busy life and how I need to pause the remember what is really important. I am going to start asking myself each day "Have I done any good in the world today?" I hope the answer is always yes.

I completely agree . . . that talk really stood out to me . . . I want to always be thinking of what to give President Monson for his birthday next year (and the next, and the next . . . )
It was a FANTASTIC Conference--so many great talks. I loved President Monson's talk, too. I want to be more charitable and make sure I think of others and give service each and every day.
We loved all of Conference! We enjoyed when President Monson talked about the jar of "warm fuzzies"...so cute! :)
does making your kids beds count as doing some good? cuz somedays I feel like that is all I ever do.
I really want to work on getting my kids to do kind acts of service. they are actually pretty good, by doing some stuff but for sure we all...around here need to be better.
Pause...breathe. We haven't even watched conference yet...out of town and then sick. You've inspired me to go watch some of the talks on the DVR today!
I'm so far behind in blogging... but yes - we loved Conference! And I really loved Pres. Monson's talk. It's something that I really, REALLY need to work on. It's not all about me... go figure ;)
